And I think it's just sad that artists can't really adapt or go into a new direction with their music without backlash from their audience. I can understand not wanting your favorite artist to change too much because you love their music for a reason, and you don't want to see them stray from that too far. But I think it should be encouraged for ours to change because if they're just making the same music over and over again, then they're just going to get stale

It's so disturbing when people identify so much with a period of someone's productivity as an artist, and then they kind of identify that as a kind of a comfort zone, and they don't know what to do when something shifts and changes and pushes out of that box. I can't imagine all the artists I've supported my whole life if they had stayed in one Lane when I discovered them, and how much I grow with them as they grow. Artists have periods. People have periods
