Pursuing Wholeness, Not Perfection: Liberation

article image placeholderUploaded by @diyasabs
For me, you do not have to be perfect in order to be whole. One of the definitions of perfection is the condition, state or quality of being free or as free as possible from all flaws or defects. Even though we know that that's impossible for our lives to be perfect by definition, we still find ourselves trying to make things right. Even when the things we are trying to change are out of our control

Wow. This is such an inspiring post. You know, I'm someone who really looks for favorable outcomes, especially in my day to day existence. I wouldn't consider myself a perfectionist, but I think that I'm very hard on myself when things don't go my way. But having said that, I think wholeness is such a liberating idea just strictly because you're looking at the bigger picture, and it really helps you refute the negativity bias that's inbuilt in us all

This reminds me so much of the conversation I'm having with people on Swell about Blemish, the idea of celebrating the things in us that are remarkably imperfect and remarkably us and celebrating that wholeness and that ability to integrate all the of parts of us that are so unique and Holy, ours and wholly imperfect. But the narrative you speak about sort of that knee jerk tendency to judge things that aren't great. It's such a distraction, and it's so great to be reminded
