Tuskegee Syphilis Study - The Experiment That Led To Death

article image placeholderUploaded by @diyasabs
In 1972 July, a huge expose made headlines across the country, and syphilis victims in the US study went untreated for 40 years. In the end, the experiment went to waste and no evidence of any racial difference was found. 74 of the 600 men were alive and 40 of their wives and 19 of their children had syphilis. Now systematic racism continues to plague the USA and it still exists in medical care and research

this experiment was extremely injust and killed hundreds of people. i talk about how they hid treatments and abused victims !! #racism #BLM #history

It's unbelievable that racism still exists to this day and the fact that black people are just getting killed because they were born as black people. I cannot even understand, understand what goes on in the minds of those who are racist. The world still has a long way to go to be peaceful. And it's going to take a long time. So I just hope that more people will be educated. Those who are still committing these crimes against innocent people should be punished for their actions

Exactly. I have no idea what goes on in racist people's minds, because that thought process is so sick. And thank you for agreeing with me

It just makes me so sad that these men were lied to, their families were lied to, and they were used as objects to perform experiments on. And these people thought that they were getting treatment for for bad blood. But instead they were just being used as objects to perform useless experiments. And also, after penicillin was discovered to be safe, it was found to be safe, persephos, they still continued doing these experiments

I completely agree. I'm so happy we've liked progressed at least a little bit, even though they were like shootings on the basis of race. Just last year. I'm still happy the education has become more common in. I feel like more people are starting to talk about it now, which is really good. Also, I see you saw the Ted videos. So did I. That's where I got the idea. Also, I I completely agree. It's such a sad thing
