Roasted Rice and lentil/pulses porridge ( bhuni khichuri)

article image placeholderUploaded by @Dev03
Also, one of the difference is that this roasted porridge can also be cooked with nonveich like Biryani, another South Asian cuisine, which is like, too good. Okay, I'm just going out with the flow. So the history of kitchen or rice and lentil porridge is dated as far as when Greek ruler Cellulus came to the Indian subcontinent and settled over the northeastern, which is known as the Indo bacteria regions like today's Afghanistan and Pakistan. That part it is that old

Recipe?

One of my biggest dislikes about kichri is that everything is mushy. And I've tasted what you described, where the lentils and the rice are discrete and separate and everything is delicious and roasted. I've had this dish before and I'm watching if you can link in the description to your next reply. Swell. A recipe that you really believe in, that I could try. That would be wonderful. It sounds delicious. Thank you

Then add the tomatoes and green chilies. Let it boil by covering it a bit without any water with the steam and then add red chili powder, cumin powder. You can add the salt now if you want or you can add it later. Now the masala is already prepared. Now we have to make the rice. So in this process, while you're making the masala, you can already Cook the rice in the dial, but make sure you Cook the rice in the Dal half, not completely

Thank you so much. I actually listened to this twice and I think I get it. It's totally clear. And when you say the rice that's not sticky, I think what you're saying is use buzz, Matty or Jasmine. Not like Brown rice, because Brown rice takes longer to Cook. The secret, it seems, is to Cook those lentils and the Brown rice separately

But Mok is the best one and do not use Brown rice or Jasmine rice only. Use white plain rice. Do not use Chinese sticky rice or Thai sticky rice. Use Indian rice that is available. You can use basmati. But yeah, you can use basmati. And the garam masala thing is that you can use of course we also use store bought garam masala only. No one has got the time to make Garaga masala at home nowadays. And garam masala you use according to your flavor
