Contemplating the Sexes πŸ’–πŸ’™

article image placeholderUploaded by @Dee94
So what are some ways that we can create equality within the genders and not be so. Well, like, this is for males and this is what men do and this is what females should do. And women are in this stagnant role of performance. They're in this realm of capabilities that can never be achieved because they're woman. Yeah. I'm just thinking about this

And thank you for posting this, because I find it to be, like, really interesting. And I don't think it's fair to say that men have a physical advantage of a woman and that transgender woman shouldn't be awarded the same opportunities and awards any other woman in any other sport

Excellent question! @Dee94

And I don't really know that we can do that with male and female because those terms, I believe, are based on genitalia. So it's just your biological anatomy. So I guess what we're talking about is deconstructing our ideas of what is a man and what is a woman and what are male roles and what are women roles

@studentlife @PKBriggs thank you both for your perspectives! πŸ‘πŸΎπŸ‘πŸΎ

But as far as people who do like being divided between man and woman, I think that we should also respect their choices and make sure that we are not misgendering people and you know, just blanketly saying they then when take pride in being who they are, especially as a transgender person sometimes I'm sure it's a proud moment when they're recognized for who they actually are and who they want to be. I don't know

And if they identify that way, then they are. And everyone needs to respect that, including this boring community. So, yeah, thank you for posting this and sharing that. And I agree with you. I think that it's cool when people want to learn about the nonbinary community, but that doesn't negate the fact that identifying as a man or identifying as a woman and really liking identifying that way is, like, just as important and needs just as much respect

Like, rather, it's negative or positive because it's their reality in that time. So I guess, for example, I used to have a friend. She's way, like, strides above this now, which I'm so glad I'm proud of. But she used to be very insecure and just always down on herself about her appearance and just like everything that you couldn't really control for this person, I would always give her encouragement, always give her upliftment

As long as you're not hurting yourself or anyone else. I mean, there are so many people who identify as animals and they're not like hurting themselves or anyone else. They just like to dress up like animals and go hang out with each other. There's like horse cosplay. But to them it's not cosplay. It's like who they really are. And I'm like, you know what?

Well, yeah. Thank you. I just always believe in people living in their truth, you know, no matter what it is, you don't have to be the most secure person, but be honest about it. I think a lot of people are misguided in the fact that they feel like they should know themselves. They should know what they're doing, and they should just have ultimate confidence. And it's like, from where? Where does that even come from?
