#SwellRewind | Some benefits of dating while older

article image placeholderUploaded by @DearAuntyAng
Right? If you're 40, you can date a man that's 50, 55, 60. Because I'm not looking for him to be around to help me raise these babies. For example, if the couple is getting married and one or both of them already have kids, well, now I get to see how you are as a parent. Even if we decide we want more kids. Well, guess what? I don't have to guess how you'll be as a dad

Hey, I saw this earlier and I was going to speak on it, but I kind of got sidetracked today. But as far as the benefits of dating of 40, I really don't see benefits from when I was younger, because I see when I was younger, dating was easier. I had people who were interested, want to spend time, came to visit as I'm older, I'm 43, I don't see that

Hey, Angela, I do see benefits in being over 40 and dating. And a lot of, you know, what you said, I totally agree with what you said. Those are some of the benefits. And I just believe, it just is that some of the pressures are gone. And I'm only speaking for myself. Right

And I do meet people and in fact, even I literally just broke up with this guy. And a friend of mine at work is like, oh, you're free to date now. And I'm like, I'm not free. Give me a minute, brother. So I do say I do meet people. There doesn't seem to be a shortage of men in my circle. For whatever reason, how serious they are, how much they really want a commitment is a whole nother story

Widows, if you're getting Social Security for a spouse that passed away, if you remarry, you don't get that money anymore. And so there may be people who put a pause on marriage for many reasons at this age, and so there's no pressure to immediately get married. We can date and maybe we don't have to combine our households, especially if there's kids. That whole blended family thing, it works in fairy tales, but in real life it's rough

And that's not a bad thing, right? Because I give everybody a chance, right. So if somebody expresses interest in me, I do at least have a few conversations with them before I say, you know what, I don't think this is going to work. And the reason why I do that, and I don't even go on dates with them

Hey, thanks so much for responding. I hope you get better first off, and take your break. Go take a nap and relax a little bit. Have some hot tea. But, yeah, maybe it's because I'm the kind of woman who, when I date someone, I'm really just concentrating on them. So I haven't never been, like, a multiple dater, but here lately and dating, I'm happy if they last two days after I see them

Because at this point in my life, more than likely when I do get married, I'm going to marry a man who's already been married. There's a high possibility and probability that that is going to be the case, and I've accepted that. It's rare to find people our age who have never been married before at any point in life
