Is your list holding you back from your blessing?

article image placeholderUploaded by @DearAuntyAng
I've never lived in the house with a dishwasher. So those three things which are very common in houses, are three things that I absolutely wanted. So the home that I have now, I'm sitting in it right now, has not one, not two, but not even three. Wait, let me take that back. Not three, not two, not one of those things. I don't have a garage

We want what we want, right? But , could your list be holding you back from your blessing?

And that, to me, sounds like more of a list of desirables. To me, a must have is like, I don't like living in a place that does not have a washer and dryer. I rent right now. I've owned, but before I even chose to own something, when I did have a home of my own, that when I was renting. Prior to that, I learned early, like as far back as college, I don't do well with public laundry mats

We know what we want, but what is it that we can't see, and how can we merge the two? And so let's say I was adamant about a garage, and the whole time I'm waiting for a garage, I'm homeless. Or the whole time I'm waiting for a garage, I'm sleeping on someone's sofa. At some point, I think I would need to say, later for this garage, let me go buy a house

I always tell people it's about what you can live with and what you can live without, what you got to have, that's a deal breaker. If you don't have it versus, okay, I don't have that, but it's okay. Like in my house, I ask God for a three bedroom house. I ask God for a house with hardwood floors. I ask God for a house that had central air, all that stuff

I was at Duck a Donuts Drive Through one time, and this guy was like, how much for that car? It doesn't look like a man's car. Like, I don't even have tents on it. But it's that Honda, right? And it's got some power to it. It's a sport. I definitely hit 80, 85, going to work in the morning

@DearAuntyAng perhaps our external requirements are a reflection of our inner insecurities.

Although that is not the point that you are trying to make. But more often than not in relationships we have these requirements around the visual appeal, among others. And if you analyze it closely, it turns out that when you expect someone who's good looking, extremely good looking, or is taller or has a certain kind of a body type, perhaps that is a reflection of your own insecurity

Those list that everybody has that grocery list of what they want in a partner. Do you really need that? Or is this something that you're afraid of or something that you're insecure about? So thank you again for adding value. Appreciate you as always. Have a great one

Especially with my son here, not wanting to leave him there with all the drama that's been going on. But I know that she used to complain about me not dressing the way she would want me to dress because I would always dress down. I mean, I work a lot, so it's no need for me to be dressing up. And with me always aiming for the things that I want. I never deprived no one else. Never

And it has a lot of what I want. And so that was the whole gist of it, like balancing our needs and our wants. And even as Geo Rhimes brought up, why do we want it? And that's that's that's that's a personal question that only you can answer. Only I can answer. But why do we want it? And I had to think about, do I want a house in a certain zip code so everybody can say, oh, you live there
