My first time getting a vitamin infusion

article image placeholderUploaded by @DearAuntyAng
So it had, I believe, definitely had magnesium, b twelve, a b complex, and I want to say zinc. Forgive me for not remembering the last vitamin that was there. My girlfriends had iv's that had a little bit more, plus they had some add ons. But because it was my first time, I figured the debut was the perfect starter for me. And so one of my girlfriends had done it before, one of them had not

Hey, Angela. No, I've never done anything like that. And I don't know that I would, but it sounds interesting. But for people that are vitamin deficient, like myself and vitamin D anemic, that might be a possibility. Like that might be something. You know, I don't know if they do infusions and stuff here in Chicago like that. I'm sure they do somewhere. But this was interesting. I was gonna ask, was there a doctor present?

You know, it, since it's actually something not too far away from me, I've actually thought about doing it. This might, you know, give me the kick in the pants to try it out, see what it has to offer. I mean, I've had doctor friends who told me that they don't see the benefit in it. They're like, it's a

One, um. One word of advice. You know, whatever facility you're in getting those infusions, make sure, you know, they have proper, you know, emergency medical equipment. And also that the staff is, like, fully, fully competent and certified for the job that they're doing

Hey Angela, thank you for sharing your experience with this, because I have heard of these services before and thought it's pretty dope that it exists, especially since I still moonlight as a nurse in one of my moonlight positions when I do case management, which I've been leaning to doing that one more because they pay me just for even opening the computer, whereas the other one, I don't get paid until I'm in the client's home and I've started iv's or managed centrally placed catheters for people who are getting antibiotic therapy at home

I mean, I had to do it for like twelve weeks. Or so it was a while. And so, again, it's just impossible in diet to get 100% of the recommended daily allowance of every nutrient that your body needs to run. So I think these infusions are necessary. Honestly, I think that they are something that we should do periodically just to, you know, tune up those levels in our body that fall short from time to time

So also maybe run it by your own primary care physician and say hey, do you recommend it? They may or may not because everybody has their own view of things, but much like Tanya said, we can't get enough vegetables in our diet. A lot of the soil has been depleted, so even if you eat strictly plant based, you're still not getting the nutrients that these vegetables want provide it and so it's something to look into
