Who can speak for you? Protests light a fire ... #GeorgeFloyd

And I hope and pray that this country comes to a cosmic agreement and a practical agreement whereby racism is put to death somehow by a new education system, a new political system that really enables equality to be an active, living, breathing philosophy and not just something that we hope can manifest in some utopian world out there. I think we're all able to stand up and be counted and be heard and be considered

And seeing what I saw last night just took me back to the riots in the 70s, in South Africa, many riots that we grew up with, and the people that we saw beaten up, just the people that used to come and work in our homes were the same people whose cousins and children were beaten up. And it absolutely distresses me. And I'm feeling a large amount of PTSD that I wanted to come to a country

Question...

How can we help our fellow Americans gain a different perspective, maybe a deeper awareness that this is a response to 400 plus years of racism and oppression. I will offer one thought on that question that I just posed. And that is art. Sometimes I think that art can crack the thick nut of a skull of a person that lacks perspective or is unwilling to look for different perspectives or that is set in their ways

Let me rephrase that...

This is a reply to my reply because in my reply I referred to the thing that happened in Minneapolis, and that's not how I want to refer to it. It was the murder of George Floyd by a Minneapolis police officer. And I want to call it that because I think it's important that I call it that I don't ever want to forget what happened to George Floyd. So I need to say that, okay. And how can we spread that message?

Let’s Collaborate with artists who on the other side of this wall

And I hope to share this particular swell out so that we can get people to talk because there's nothing worse than the Echo Chamber that we live in, which is your point. And I think that art. You're right. Art can transform people because it could cross boundaries and barriers and language issues. And when good art happens, people explode into completely new Pardes of themselves. And it's that big an experience

And in order to understand our two cities and our separate silos that we live in, we have to start with students and teach them to talk to the other, and we have to reach across the proverbial fence and try to have a conversation with people who hold different views, who come from different paths. And that has to start aggressively now, this type of dialogue, this empathy, building this consciousness awareness in the way we teach and the way we train

"Abuse of power comes as no surprise."

And my contribution to this conversation, I suppose, is that I think it is our personal responsibility and moral obligation to take a real self inventory of how we are in a position of power within our lives, whether it is because of how we are racially identified, whether it's because of our gender, our position at work or within our family or due to our history, perhaps with mental illness, anything like that, what are the ways in which we are in positions of power?

And all it is is to divide the country, because if you don't redo your research, you're going to feed feed into what the mainstream media is telling you, especially CNN, which CNN is a propaganda network. So that is my opinion
