Today on the Voiceover: have you been in the presence of excellence?

article image placeholderThe Voiceover
Today on The Voiceover. I want to talk about being been in the presence of excellence came to me in a conversation I was having with my new friend Robert Bernard Hass, and we were talking about just being in the world and being around people that just make you go, wow. This is a person who just did their 10,000 hours plus somebody who just is amazing at their craft, whatever their craft is. He mentioned being in front of a man who's making five omelets at the same time

Do tell!! Here’s my contribution Carlos Kotkin https://vimeo.com/486658825

And as with all of these conversations, everyone, please welcome to respond. I'm going to invite three new voices to join us here today. Yannick O'Brien, who's been being interviewed with me on the spotlight. John, who's new to the platform, a new entrepreneur. I can't wait to hear your thoughts. And Robert Bernard Haas, who is a wonderful poet and professor. Love to hear your thoughts about excellence. You've been in the presence of excellence

Expanding the question

So I guess maybe I'll tag that on to your question, not just have you ever been been in the presence of excellence? Have you ever been been been in the presence of excellence? Thought, oh, what I wouldn't give to steal that out of the back of your head

I can honestly say I'm around excellence every day from my kid's mother and how exceptional she is at handling emergency situations to which I would falter

You can have really deep and meaningful conversations with them, and he gets it. He gets it from a male's perspective. He can get it. So, yeah, I think he's one of the main people who I would say being around him is really a joy because I'm going to learn something. We're going to share ideas

It's more like the opportunity to just take a breath and say, wow, this person is exceptional and they're in my world. And I don't think I've ever stopped to really think about why when I look at them or work with them or engage with them, I feel inspired, and it's because they show up so beautifully with their skills and with their full selves
