The Bath ! My Favorite Drink of the Season

article image placeholder Painting by Lianne Goldsmith
I realized that my favorite drink during the season is a bath. I take more baths during December and into January than any other time of the year. And it's not even because of the chill in the air. It's because of the soak in the tub. It's because of that feeling of being, I don't know, naked and held by this little bit of body of water that makes me feel like I'm someplace else. My mind goes other places

I love a good bathe

There's no sense of feeling depressed or sad. I don't know. I just managed to really just get into the beautiful warmth of the water. And in fact, when I did that painting after being throughout Covet, I think I bought at least twice a day and I still do, actually. And I was looking at my feet and looking how they formed around the water force. And it was so inspiring because I'd spent so much time there

I would say I don't get to enjoy them quite as frequently because I have a kid and a dog who like to interrupt, so I almost need to schedule them. But boy, is it ever luxurious? It's so much better than almost anything you could buy. Or do. I remember even in College I would get a two X four plank and put it across and do my studying and reading there. I enjoy eating apples in the bath and having fizzy drinks

Ah, the bath. I'm not much of a bath, man, but when I do or the rare occasion that I do take a bath is when I've broken my body like after a long mountain climb or something like that and the body is just ruined. I love taking a hot bath to feel the water begin the healing process. I just lie there and let the water start to do its thing. But yeah, cool. Thanks for the post

Bath rituals ❤️

And it is my favorite ritual, and it does bring back memories of when I was little and tiny enough to slip and slide all around the bathtub. Sloshing everywhere. It's kind of a beautiful thing and kind of feels like I'm getting back in touch with my inner child, even though I don't slosh in the bathtub anymore

@Bixy herb combo?

Oh, it's so nice to hear everybody's bath stories. It's so primal. I have a little stuffed nose right now. So I'm going to take a bath. But I want to ask you Bixby, about your little tincture. What herbs do you use that you make tea out of and then pour into your bath. What are they

I kind of mix and match as inspired usually have some Jasmine and some rose petals and sometimes a little bit of chamomile Arnica. If I feel like I'm achy or sore tumeric powder if I feel achy or sore, I mean tumeric root. If I feel achy or sore mugwort Epsom salt, little lavender oil. I think that's about it
