The DeCentralized Brain of an Octopus - are we the real Suckers?

NatureSciencePhilosophy

"…In lighter, more aquatic news. We have a lot to learn from Cephalopods, specifically octopus. I read this great article, and I just had to share it here because it's taken me to a whole new in place of understanding around how the brain in octopi I think it's octopi really makes so much sense to me. The brain is decentralized, so the neural pathways extend into the arms.…"

"…Excellent article. Thank you for sharing. Love reading articles where I learned something that I didn't know before. Most interesting part to me was that the octopus brain is decentralized. The brain extends throughout their bodies and into their limbs. So that means each tentacle contains bundles of neurons that act as independent minds. That's the stuff you see in science fiction, right? Aliens, but great greed. And again, thank you for sharing.…"

"…She tells her stout self that all of the unique creatures in the ocean that are strange and alienate to us, she attributes to the meteorites who made it to the atmosphere and landed in the ocean, found the ideal environment to somehow come to life and perhaps be a slightly different iteration of where they came from, but that they're all really aliens. "…Oh, my goodness. Thank you, Deborah. This is beautiful. I loved this article, and I didn't realize that people had this concept that, you know, the bits of debris from space were falling into the ocean and spawning alien creatures such as octopus. I think Seeking Plum mentioned that she knows a lady who talks about that. Do you know there's a series I'm watching at the moment which is fabulous. It's called Resident Alien. Or is it Alien Resident?…"

"…Well, I love when two things become entwined from the octopus and alien theories kind of folding into a show. I'm I'm like, ray, I'm going to have to watch this show. The article made me so happy. I seek out things like this, especially when I want to avoid other things. So thank you all for reading it, and I'll try to make sure at least once a week I bring that kind of stuff to our circle of love. Thank you.…"
