If you are a female or know a female, then this conversation is probably for you. We are going to talk about the presence of female sales leaders in corporations. It has been proven that corporations that are more diverse, meaning they have more gender diversity, are more profitable. And I want to talk about what keeps people from becoming sales leaders. Who are the big leaders now and how are they moving in their companies, how are they moving up, and how are they making a difference?

Where are the female sales leaders? @KelleyOKeeffe #DBPconvo

15% of VPs of sales are women….is 50% the goal?

So my first question, Kelly, has to do with this statistic. 15% of vice presidents of sales are female. Where does that 15% come from? And what size companies does that represent? And from your perspective, what should that be? Should it be 50% of vice presidents of sales? And if so, is it the fault of companies to not accelerate the careers of women? Or are women themselves applying for these jobs?

You're representing money coming in. And that is very important to a corporation as it affects profitability. So when we look across why aren't more women in those leadership positions of revenue generation, I'm finding there's a few factors. And again, this is according to several studies. One primarily that I love is the McKinsey and Lean in Joint Women in the Workplace survey from this past year

The CEOs are responsible for that culture, of getting rid of the barriers, getting rid of the mysterious language, making advancement a really clear experience for people. Can you talk about maybe a success story that you see where a CEO says, okay, here's the policy we're putting in place. Here's the path towards leadership. It has nothing to do with gender. It has to do with performance and the merit of the person

How does Sales in particular compare to other parts of an organization when it comes to looking statistically how women are doing? I'd love to understand those numbers. Thank you

We're signaling to our executives that yes, we will do what it takes to learn what we need to learn and get promoted up the chain here's. Where we're seeing a disconnect though, is since there's not as many women in revenue and authority positions, it's less familiar
