How do you teach it in K through twelve so that this next group of people, these next leaders of our society, will have empathy imbued in them, just like they understand basic skills of etiquette, basic skills of math, basic skills of driving that they have basic empathic skills so they understand how to use that and have a better world, better engagement, and a more meaningful existence because empathy is part of it. Okay, trenchyo here you are. Welcome

Right around 2016, I started speaking a little bit more on empathy in a public way, not just with our clients, but in different podcasts and on different panels and talking about the importance that it plays in business, in life overall, obviously. But I was talking to a lot of companies and corporations about the importance and the role that it plays in corporate America and when it comes to product development, when it comes to understanding your customers, when it comes to internal company culture

Clients’ relationship to empathy themselves

So great to hear your voice. And really interesting, that progression that you just shared with us really came from your experience and your exposure to people who care. And you felt that. And it kind of defined that moment in your life, those moments that make you feel not othered. And I think that's a real big thing about empathy, not feeling othered and feeling like somebody understands who you are. A question came to mind while you were talking

So there may be some uncomfortable moments, there may be some things that you are struggling with, but we have to push through those, especially if you're talking about a brand. Right. So if you want me to engage with you as a brand, then the onus is on you to empathize it's, not on that end user

What’s missing ?

I love the tough love here, and I mean that there's a feeling of authority you have over this topic. And if someone is smart enough to bring you in, they're ready for this conversation. They're ready for the push that's required to make sure that there's that between the brand and the people you're trying to reach, and it builds a better world. I really mean that

And it's causing companies and businesses to have to empathize in a way that they have it before. When you add the social media platforms that are out there, if there's a bad actor, it will be called out instantly and a demand for change will happen. And that's all because of this generation and this reckoning, if you will, on empathy that they're sort of driving is affecting everything from company culture to brand messaging to product development
