Feeling good 🍿 / physical pain / self compassion

article image placeholderIs that a smile?
And I started thinking about the difference between a physical ache and a physical pain. And I just wanted to bring up in this moment that I have aches from doing some good floor stuff and yoga stuff and exercise. And it's such a different experience than having pain. I have had a life of a lot of different kinds of pain related to my scoliosis, related to my back, and it's so distracting and so debilitating

Awesome reminder🙏🏾

And he said something really important, like the agency to just be able to move even though you navigate pain because that's also not someone's story. Some people have pain and they can't they can't get on the floor and stretch. They can't do any of that. And that's what I sort of always try to remind myself, and if you hear me now might sound a little breathy because I just took a walk for lunch because I can

Keep moving

Hi Cristi here. I got on my mat this morning and did my yoga class, as I usually do. I try to do about 30 minutes every day. Some days I feel great and energized and I want to do a really challenging class and sometimes not so much. So I do a super mellow restorative class, but we all have pain for sure. I think stiffness for me for sure after 50 and the occasional migraine

And I know you relocated to a new city, hoping you are doing well there and helping people there, maybe on your own Swell cash, you can give us a little insight into how that transition is going for you. Great to hear you here on swell

Stretching and baking

Usually my clients are the best teachers and I've learned so much from them how to modify, how to help others depending on what their individual journey is that day and what they're dealing with and how to navigate that pain and get past it and wrap their minds around it about how to cope and how to make progress, or maybe how to rest. Obviously resting is sometimes the best medicine

And sometimes having that physical ache is a really great feeling because it kind of reminds you that your body has the ability to do all of this amazing stuff. And for me personally, as much as I complain about it the next day, after I do a yoga class or an aerial class, that ache is my favorite thing because it makes me feel like I've really accomplished something
