Do you consider ART created by AI still ART? I want to find a new name for it.

article image placeholderAll of the images you see here have been generated completely by artificial - David W. Sime on LinkedIn | 731 comments
One of the comments he made in his post was that we all can have access to something like this very soon, if not now, where we can ask a computer with a few words to create art. We give them prompts and the artificial intelligence takes its intelligence and makes the art. What do you think about this? I'd like it to any tool that we're being offered these days that empowers us to be better at something

Thank you @David_W_Sime https://s.swell.life/STEIZfbsg9DRiXs

It's human who is defining the art. And AI is just representing what we have defined. That's one way of looking at it, yes. But thanks for sharing this. Well, it was quite interesting to think about it. And that was my $0.02

But I could imagine that over time, just simply based on the randomness of chaos or entropy or however you want to describe it, that it's going to suddenly shift from what was entirely a database made of human art to something different, because we're going to start throwing back into that database. I would imagine the AI generated pieces, the ones that particularly stand out to us as humans, that have an impact on us, right?

I think what's most important is, in the little time we have on this Earth, to spend it being engaged and in awe of the gift of being alive and perceiving things and being inspired to feel deeply as a human does feel. Because even if something is computationally created, it can elicit incredible human response. And I think that's really what I care about, is, did this move me? Yeah

@DBPardes: Machine-learning & music…

Even the experimentation of machine learning and music. That the same way that we are sort of talking about the art form like something on a canvas or a photo or something like that being generated by AI, that there's also been discussion about machine learning and musicality that it can sort of use predictions, trends and an algorithm through machine learning to identify what might be pleasing to a specific listener

🤔

And it could be some philosophical musings about exactly what is art in our human experience. And if something does have the power to have emotional power and gravitas, can it be deemed as power, if not from the hand of a human? We look at nature and it's beautiful. We see it as art, although we have had no creation within the elements that formed nature and site as we know it, but we claim it as our own. So it's interesting in a sense with that

Hi. Good question. Because I've seen some AI or digital paintings, and I've with artists. I think the great artists, the masters like Rembrandt or Van Gogh, Monet, all those guys I have a profound experience when I see those paintings. They're just awesome. I have not had that with any digital art that I've seen, but I wonder if I could tell the difference. Like if you showed me two paintings and one was artificial intelligence

Hey, T. J. You're in line with a lot of the comments above, and I I just wanted to respond to the idea that maybe what I feel like people are really connecting to is there seems to be people behind AI. And that's a theme. But I think the deeper question is the one you bring up, which is if it affects you and makes you feel, is that not an artistic experience for what art does?
