To Scream or Not to Scream: My 9 hours of hell in the ER.

article image placeholderUploaded by @DBPardes
I guess the first time was about 2009, but on Tuesday night, it was a whole different experience. No amount of medicine can help me with the pain. They gave me morphine. They gave me ketamine, they gave me Valium, they gave me antiinflammatories with steroids. They gave me names. I didn't even understand it was a nine hour ordeal, but I wanted to post this specifically to comment on the need for me to scream as opposed to everything else

AND YES to scream! Catharsis wins. @kate🙏❤️

And I just remember they put their fist in my stomach. And whatever was there in terms of emotional healing just came up. And I found that screaming was a great release in that moment. And even though it was mortifying embarrassing to be screaming in front of people, you don't really know, it gave me a sense of relief and release. And so I agree. Yes. Sometimes that's just what you got to do

Hey Deb, I'm so glad you seem to be over the worst of this experience. I don't know if there is anything much more humbling than back pain. It really is a reminder of how vulnerable we are and just how much our backs do for us on a daily basis. And I hope that you are able to rest and kind of recalibrate after that experience because I know how overwhelming and exhausting it is and sending lots of healing vibes your way

Prayers in rotation for your healing and relief 🙏🏾 @DBPardes

Hi, Deborah. I am. Wow. When you say exquisite pain, I understand exactly what you mean. Sorry that you had this experience. And I'm happy that that you're better now or it's subsided. And yeah, I mean, sometimes just the scream is all there is sending you lots of love, energy, healing thoughts and prayers. Quite honestly, because that sounds extraordinary. But I'm glad you're back home now. And you were not alone

Hey, Deborah, I hope you're doing much better now because that sounded like an emotional and physical roller coaster, and I can't even imagine how excruciating and advertising it would be to have muscle spasms every 20 seconds is for ours and ours. But as Kate said, it sucks when you feel so helpless when a loved one or somebody you love is so much pain, and you could just hear them scream from the next room and coming to screaming
