Fade Away

article image placeholderUploaded by @DarkMoonMusings
I know that there is not enough to tether her to what is now her world, but we try with weddings and babies impromptu lunches and holiday meals, family vacations and prom dresses and block towers on the floor and hours and hours of Korean TV that none of us understand. And then she's gone, silently, with no fanfare, a ghost of a memory

Jay. Thank you for this really haunting and beautiful. It just dropped me right into that room, into that space, into that time. Shared. Not forgotten, but shared. And here it is again in these words. It's beautiful. Thank you

Yay. You made it here. This was so amazing. So I loved the picture that you put up there. It was so evocative of so many things from times past, that generational gap, that being a second generation. Then one of your superpowers in your poetry that I've always noted is that you have this ability to drop us right into the scene with no previous context. And through the way you connect all the dots, you give us all the context without having to go into specifics

@DBPardes

I'm glad that you found something in this that resonated with you. I mean, that is kind of the whole point of poetry, right? Thank you for your kind words

Thank you for telling me about Swell. I'm still trying to figure it out, but I thought I would at least try to make a post. And your words are so kind. I'm really glad that you liked the poem. And you really did hit it on the nose. You know, it's a story about actually, it's a story about my mother and her passing and kind of where she lost hope, I guess. I'm glad you liked the picture too

@DarkMoonMusings yes! I’m so happy you are here

Right. So you can definitely see like the cross generational with the pains and the things that they lived and then trying to cross over into a new world and not having it necessarily translate or having a way to just kind of put those maybe lost dreams or to your point, losing hope

It kind of amazes me how you are able to find meaning and deep interpretations in other people's words and poetry. You're just phenomenal. And you're such a wonderful poet that I stumble. I can't even say thank you most of the time. So there you go
