Have you got an Apple TV subscription and did you pay for it?

article image placeholderApple TV
Hi team. I was just wondering, has anyone actually paid for Apple TV, or were you given a free subscription because you bought an Apple product recently? That's certainly my case. I've had it for about nine months. I haven't really found anything of value on there, and I certainly won't be keeping it once the free twelve months is over. And it just made me think, is Apple basically giving away this free TV or are people actually paying for I for it

Mine expired a few days ago.

It's based on a trilogy of books by Isaac Asimov, and I enjoyed the trilogy, and I saw the trailer and I'm intrigued so much so that I might give Apple money. It depends on how much it costs. Also, if they decide to air one episode per week over a period of a few months, I'm not going to subscribe for several months. I'll wait until all the episodes have been released and subscribed for one month, watch it and then cancel

@SeekingPlumb I hear ya!

Hi is seeking plum. Thank you so much for responding. And your answer is very much what I thought. In fact, a couple of days ago, Apple gave me another three months for free for Apple TV. And it's like why I've actually put a calendar note in my calendar to say, Please cancel Apple subscription on this date. The only thing that I've actually watched is in Australia. It's called The Morning Wars

And so probably that aspect of it made it that much more interesting for me than if I had just watched it without any of that. But it's hard to say right. Dickinson I enjoyed. But when the second season was released before the expiration date, I kept wondering if I was missing something, like if there was actually more content to Apple TV, then there really was. And I just couldn't find it or something

Agreed! πŸ˜€

I feel that it's got too much energy, just too much drama. And there's no ebbs and flows. And because of that, it kind of just winds itself up and then has nowhere to go and it falls flat. And that's why I think I'm really disappointed in it. That's what I mean. The stories are just too unbelievable, too dramatic to be believable. No, it's just my opinion

Yes

So if I felt like I was wasting my money having it in Netflix, some of their shows are just kind of mediocre to me. It's like they put out so much stuff that at times it can kind of be like, yeah, and I think too. I got really soured after they canceled all the Marvel stuff. They had to because Disney was starting to make their push for original content. But, yeah, it kind of just made me not even really care for Netflix anymore

Apple TV Plus is a mouthfull πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ @Wuandurful

Hey, mate. Lovely to meet you via this app. And thank you so much for replying to my question. So you do have Apple TV plus, but you've got the free version because you obviously bought something from Apple recently. Yeah, interesting that you say that I don't actually have an Apple TV dongle. I have the Apple TV plus app. God, that's a mouthful, isn't it?

Hey, it was helpful to hear everything that you all have been watching on Apple TV, so I also have the yearly free thing, and I have barely used it. I'm not exactly sure when it will be up, but I watched a movie for the first time on Apple TV this past week. I've had it for months and months, and I think part of the reason is because there are a couple of movies I want to watch on there
@SeekingPlumb

You're right, @DameDivaDan!

And I think that sometimes when there's too many episodes for a storyline, well, then it's drawn out, and there's a lot of filler. Right. But if you try to compact some storylines into a shorter period of time, well, then it ends up where there is, like, too much going on

@bowie - great point.

Hey, Bowie, lovely to hear from you. And thank you so much for answering my question. Watching it as part of a group. That's a really good point you make there. I didn't think of that. I don't watch TV as part of a group, so I didn't think of that. But yeah, excellent point. Thank you so much for joining the conversation. And I hope you get to watch your movies
