Tech: NASA Astronauts Make First Water Landing in 45 Years 🚀

article image placeholderNASA Astronauts in SpaceX Capsule Make First Water Landing Since 1975
Happy Monday, everyone. It's Rachel. Yesterday was a historic day for the United States. Two NASA astronauts made a water landing in the Gulf of Mexico off the coast of Pensacola, Florida, after spending two months in space, making the first water landing since 1975. That's 45 years ago. This is a big moment and definitely something for us to celebrate

After an almost botched landing, the astronauts made it home. #space #nasa #history #usa https://nyti.ms/3fns375

Look up! Look up!!

Times has certainly changed since the first time we saw a water landing. I just think it's so important that this happened when it happened for people to focus on magnificence on outer limits of creative and technological advances. We're so bogged down by the smallness of disagreements and divisiveness. And this landing came at a perfect time for people to look up, look up, from the cesspool of yucky conversation to the delight and expansiveness of discovery and the outer limits. So I thought the timing was really awesome

I wouldn't blame them considering the two big disasters we had in the space shuttle program and especially after they coming in after a long time, they wanted it to be a winning, clean, safe ride. I did want to mention that this event is extremely significant, and the reason it is significant is because this is the first crewed space mission to the International Space Station and back that is done via a private company

I know this was five days ago, but I appreciate your piece on the landing. It was very kind of exciting and a good thing, a wholesome just good feel. I understand the mid 70s was the last time that this happened. So basically, like the 60s kind of space exploration and everything lasted until the mid 70s. And then we had to shut Shuttle or the Challenger and things like that space shuttle. Thanks. I appreciate your news. Bye
