LAUSD, the second largest school district in the US, has gone on strike for the 2nd time in 5 years. Why does this keep happening?
The demands being made by the workers honestly make a whole lot of sense to me. A 30% pay rise plus an additional $2 an hour over the next four years. Increased employment hours for part time workers. As I mentioned, a lot of these folks were working part time. A 23% recurring pay increase, a $20 an hour minimum wage. How that doesn't already exist in this industry is pretty mind boggling

I haven't followed up on the Los Angeles school strike. I don't know if it's over. I think it was set for a short duration just to kind of make a statement. I have a buddy that's a teacher in La. I should contact him. So I'm just curious. Are you a school teacher? Is that why you were posting about this? Or you just were disseminating the news? All right. Thanks, JP
It's. Hey, there. Thanks for the question. I actually was a middle school teacher for about six and a half, seven years. I was involved in the last strike that happened, actually, back in what was it? I think 2019. I felt like they folded a little bit quickly. And this one, it looks like they were standing in solidarity with be other workers than non instructors. That is three days to sort of cap a strike at that
