a note on quotes

Also, I just want to note that the statement of the protester I talked about that was not a direct quote coming from me. You can read the direct quote in the article. That was my summation of what the protester said in addition to the other person that I quoted. So definitely read the article. If you'd like to see the direct quotes, just want to make that clear here

I've seen a lot of news outlets reporting on this, obviously, because it's a pretty important story. And over the last few months, we've heard these same outlets say things along the lines of, you know, what is it going to take take to stop the looting and the rioting? And I just have to say that this is not that this will not stop those things. This will probably amplify them and make it worse

But I'd welcome anybody who has a law degree or anybody to help explain how this comes about, because it just seems like an old boy network kind of, hey, let's hide the evidence and let's just get rid of this. That's what it feels like to me. Let's get rid of this as painlessly as we can. And let's bury all the evidence and let's just try to get past it. That's what it feels like

Can't believe that this was the verdict that came out or the decision from the grand jury. I just find the whole thing absolutely awful. I can't even imagine how Brianna Taylor's family is feeling, her mother, her front. I just can't. It's just no words. And I'm watching a little bit of the news where the protesters were peacefully marching. And then all of a sudden, the cops set up a line and stopped them from marching

You know, it's all so tiresome at this point, isn't it? I mean, wanton endangerment. The funny thing about this charge is that it means that you've got created the substantial risk of danger or death or serious bodily harm of another human being. He didn't create a substantial risk of danger or death. He created death. There was a murder that took place here. A sleeping woman. I'm at a loss as to how that is not

I also wanted to add that my assumption is that a murder charge was never even possible to consider, because one could argue that the killing of Brianna Taylor isn't premeditated. And I just don't understand. How is there no where is a term that encapsulates a middle ground between one endangerment and just straight up premeditated planned murder? How is there not charge for that, I think is the biggest question I have right now

I realized after I posted that that oh yeah. What I'm talking about is manslaughter, and I'm curious. Out of all your readings, I haven't read anything that made it seem like that was even a possibility as far as a charge, and I just don't understand how that is even possible

And what are the various charges in me as someone who's not a lawyer, why is it that I am having to do so much digging to even understand why justice wasn't served here? So anyways, I just wanted to add that into other conversation, since this has been something that's been ongoing that I've been talking with people about all day and reading about
