Breaking News: Jacob Blake shot multiple times by Wisconsin police

article image placeholderWisconsin police shoot Black man as children watch from a car, attorney says
Hi, everyone. I hope your Monday is off to a good start. This is Rachel back with The Daily Swell. It is with a heavy heart that I share that Jacob Blake, a father and and a black man from Wisconsin, was shot seven times in the back by local law enforcement. After what I read, it seems that he was helping to break up a fight between two people

Wow. You've got to be kidding me. They shot him seven times in the back, in front of his children. Why would they do that? That why would they do that seven times. That stupid. Doesn't even know what to say. I'm surprised that he's swell alive. Wow

Will outrage transform policy ? 😢😢😢🔥

And I think this is where I could just be speechless. And just like you said, so, eloquently, let's hold a space for this sad time in our society. And we are reliving history again and again. And I don't know when it's going to stop. My only hope is that outrage turns to changes policy. That's the only way we'll survive, literally. So thanks for as well

It's a jaw dropping that these things number one, have ever happened, but that they continue to happen. As Mark was stating, you would think that with so many of these things in the front of many people's minds, that people would be more cognizant vigilant in their actions. But it's just not the case. And the complexity of it is it's not just one thing. It's a multitude of things that are coming together to create this madness

But I mean, really, this year it's been like no other year before the fact that this is happening and people are calling for real reform and this continues to happen. We can't go one month without this happening. It's offensive. It is hurtful. My heart is so heavy for the communities that consistently have to deal with this. And with no recourse, it just seems like these things happen
