Tech: Apple's War with the Gaming Industry
Do you think that Apple is serving its consumers while also allowing for there to be great apps and competitiveness between creators, or do you think that their decisions are only serving to protect Apple arcade and their own sort of title games? I would love to hear your thoughts on this and any issues related to Apple, the App Store and gaming at large
So for this to work, the App Store has to approve of an Xcloud app that players can use to go into Xcloud and play Microsoft library of games. Now that library of games part is why I don't think this is going to work because Apple wants control over every single game on the App Store. It helps that they have their own Apple arcade service, that's brand new. They want to protect that and control the experience there as well

From that standpoint, I see Apple staying true to their brand and trying to protect their consumers. The flip side of this obviously is that their consumers don't get all the choice and they would rather have all those other games that are developed on the other platform to be directly developed on their platform so they can control and vet them out directly. Now, I'm not saying that there are no business reasons. They all obviously have a very good business reason for this

Hey, Howie, we need to have you on the podcast soon. Let me know if there's some way I can entice you. We just had Shami on today, so that swell be coming out later this week. Let me know

By the way, I licensed Maniac Mansion from Lucas, published it on the Nintendo System and was responsible for putting the hamster in the oven and blowing it up, which was a great big no no. According to the the rules and regulations at Nintendo, a very funny story that we actually won't
