Politics: "Nobody likes me." - The President

article image placeholder'Nobody likes me,' Trump complains, as even his allies fade
Hello. Swell. It's Rachel coming to you this Saturday morning. I hope you're having a great morning. I have to say when I first came across this article, I for a second thought I got confused and ended up on the Onions website and I thought it was satire, but it isn't. And it left me with a question that I would love to hear your thoughts on. Does. Does a President need to be likable in order to be an effective leader?

Does a president need to be likeable? https://cnn.it/3fkIIZ8 #politics #leadership #usa #history

We don’t have to love the president, but they should appear fit for office.

And all he did was celebrate with a microphone on and people thought it was so unpresidential. He was buried. That was the end of his campaign. He was out very soon after. It was unbelievable. And now the things we see on Twitter that looked like they were written by somebody who had a bad reaction to some medication. We go that's another day and we're completely desensitized to it

Leaders need to be respectable than likeable

It just happens that the current Occupant of the White House is not somebody we would like to hear from on Twitter. It's not that he does not have a filter on Twitter as much as how vile he is and how his character projects on Twitter. For one, going ahead. When we do replace him, I would look forward to a President that is more on Twitter, but at the same time is respectable. In fact, I would rather see a President on Twelve. Just think about it

I don't like the people who like our President and by people I mean other world leaders. If you have an opinion about our President President as a voter, that's one thing. But to align yourself almost without any question or review of circumstances with this guy, it's very problematic

Decision making

Getting people to listen to and understand different points of view and then take informed decisions based on data based on science, based on behalf. Good advice. This is what a leader needs to have. And this is where I think our leader falls short of

Why do we like someone?

I guess you want to look at what makes you like somebody. And I know I want a President who has steadfast resolve. Then I'll like them. But that has to be partnered with compassion and curiosity for truth seeking. And that would make me like him, too. So it's not so much about the randomness of liking a President. It's about why we like somebody. We like them for reasons that build the case to like them

I think a President has to be maybe both. You have to be respectful of him because he he is our leader. Whether you agree with him or disagree, I believe if we're going to teach our children to obey authority, he is our authority figure. So we should try to obey what he says or does. If we do disagree again, question everything, but as far as liking it's up to you. Okay. I right now filter him out. He is our President

So in this particular case, and since he is the catalyst to this question, his statement, this goes beyond just not likable. The civilized, decent human beings should fully and wholly reject what this man is, reject his conduct, his desire to divide, because without division, he has nothing. So you don't have to be likable. But you have to at least have some humanity to you, a soul desire to do good. And I don't think we're experiencing that here

Okay, I'm probably going to get totally attacked here, but I don't think liking a President is important at all. I think it's his ability and his results in doing the job. And President Trump can definitely say things that are a little bit inappropriate or on the fringe of language. The words he picks sometimes are just really kind of cringey
