Autumn Vibes from Vermont

article image placeholderUploaded by @countryswell
It's time to feel calm and cozy and snuggle up by the fire and not have a care in the world except for how many marshmallows you're going to put in your hot cocoa. So I'm blessed by this amazing change in the fall, but I also get to kind of see that reverse of it in the spring where all of a sudden the leaves in the lowest warmest spots begin to get buds

And those differences always stand out to me. But there's also a continuity, right? A recognition of this is the way things are. Yes, there's flexibility and change in it, but there's also consistency. And I don't know, there's a beauty in that complexity of knowing that it's that time of year, but that snow might come on Halloween or snow might come in September, even though where I used to live, snow maybe didn't come until December or January

And there's about a gazillion memes floating around social media about summer, false fall, real fall, trick spring, I don't know. There's all these different seasons, like 17 of them that we experience and nature is very fickle. But yet at the same time, it is consistent that the seasons change and they definitely keep me in a rhythm. Right

You made me laugh when you mentioned we have a saying here. We have one here, too. It's exactly the same. Wait five minutes to the weather will change. I used to think it was just specific to us. And then the more I started speaking to people all over the world via social audio, then I started finding out there's a similar phrase, if not identical phrase, in various places on the planet that all feel the same way about their weather. How fascinating
