This has had a lot of controversy. As a coach, I know this because we have a whole practice around sports, sports management, sports talent. We work with a lot of groups in that ecosystem, mostly around leadership, coaching, sometimes facilitating, strategic planning. So I know people who are involved in this. I know about the drama and the struggles around this conversation
I just think that I'm a big soccer fan and I think there's a lot that you can say politically about Saudi ownership and their influence in global sport and fandom. But one thing that really bothers me about the way that they have influenced the game of soccer is because they have a limitless, quite almost literally infinite pool of money to pull from. They've ruined the market when it comes to buying and selling players

I mean, the family is set for generations and it takes somebody special to really kind of still be motivated beyond that. And I've seen it with other sports and over the past 30, 40 years, and when I've been watching sports and when I've seen more money come into it, I've seen that motivation go down. There is still some players that are there, but I've seen way too many players be satisfied with just doing okay and walking off with piles of money
So how is this going to impact the LPGA as they move forward? And then of course, there's conversations about the sponsors. Will the normal, the regulars, I don't even know what to call this, but the sponsors, the corporations that have historically gravitated towards sponsoring golf tournaments, purses players, et cetera, are they going to stay in this game? Now, I'm sure that's up for grabs in a lot of conversations that will take the headline maybe after this initial dust settles
All it's doing is filling up the brown, running off the side on the ground, but somebody still thinks they're doing something instead of filling the coffers where they need to be filled. It's a trip, but I think that's a good idea. Not even thinking that on first thought, you think, well, the LPGA woman, how women are treated over there or how the culture is different and how do they feel about that? How about putting the money in with them?
