How can we find the balance of masculine and feminine energy in the workplace?

Hi everybody. I got a big question for you, which is how are we going to find the right balance of masculine and feminine energy in the workplace? Right? Historically in all workplaces, big and small, we have had traditional hierarchy, linear, results driven organizations. And because of that, and also because for a very, very long time, we had all basically men as our leaders and as a woman in the workplace and someone who's coached men and women in the workplace for 27 years

C suite mentality

But in the business culture you're speaking of, there's more of a shot at changing people through programs, through exposure, through awareness, through conversation. Where do you see that happening in an organization that, let's say it's mid size and the C suite is just not aware? How do you change that if the vigil you're working with is up against that mentality?

Ahead, Deborah. This is so juicy. I'm so glad that you posed the questions that you did. I want to tackle one at a time and let's just go with the big one that is often a not so hidden elephant in the room. So many organizations have C suite or leaders. Doesn't matter if it's a big company or a small company. We definitely have what I call incumbent or leaders in leadership role s. That's what that means

And I know femininity isn't just how we dress, but I'm saying, from my point of view, I never wanted to be seen the same way as a man or be taken seriously as a man. I wanted to be taken seriously as Anngela and as a woman, if that makes any sense. And so I led from being myself, and I had great success. Things were done. There were results. There were great hires that I oversaw that added to our organization

And I don't know exactly the logistics of how it would work with respect to these different kinds of energy, but ultimately being able to recognize that to be human is more broad, is more multidimensional, is more rich than one energy over the other. And that in having some inclusiveness, this more comprehensive, human oriented approach means that it's best for the bottom line

@SeekingPlumb

So if you have empathy as a core value of a company, let's say, I think it really can impact people's ideas about what's expected of them in any given situation. And empathy has to be an ingredient, just like data might have to be an ingredient, or the ability to take a survey is a protocol for the company. But how does empathy fit into considering decision making, considering hiring and firing, all that stuff?

There are times when I find this really fascinating and sometimes when I find it really frustrating, in that I know that in order for us to learn, we have to compartmentalize and use abstract notions. We have to break things down into silos and boxes and labels, whether we're talking certain fields science, technology, philosophy, et cetera, whether we're talking feminine and masculine energy, whether we're talking businesses and profits and whatever it might be

And again, my whole intention here is to say, how do we balance it out? Because we still have an imbalance of behaviors and thinking and energy that is not equally results oriented and action oriented with the ability to pause and include others. That's just one example of what I would call a balance we could benefit from. So I love this conversation. Again, I know I keep saying that it's really true

And in fact, lots of filmmakers that I really admire have the same style. But I'm wondering, you know, perhaps if that incongruity with his his masculinity was why it was so potent. And I guess I'm just wondering, you know, what other people think about that

FAS in regards to energy, I'm one I'm just thinking out loud that it seems like in the world of commerce and the way business works is the more masculine energy like you're saying. I think it just needs to be informed with the feminine energy, but not the other way around. Just wondering your thoughts
