How has your relaxation routine changed since the pandemic?

So I was in a lot of corporate environments, so office buildings and meeting rooms, lots of artificial light, to be honest. And then on the weekends, when I needed to recharge and relax, I really, really needed to shut it down if I could. Because getting back on a plane on Sunday night or Monday morning oftentimes had a lot of just natural momentum and anxiety to it. And then by the time I got home Thursday night or Friday, I was completely depleted

And once the Pandemic was over, getting back into that zone of how do I relax? Was equally difficult because you had to transition back from a remote work into a hybrid or go to office kind of a mode. And not to mention all the travel restrictions that still continued for a year or a year and a half later, even after the Pandemic was kind of settling down. But we're in a much better position now. I'm able to sort of physically travel again

And she's like, kind of rag on me about it. So after the pandemic hit and nobody could go none of these women could go out and get their hair done, and they all were going gray. And so I was like, messing with them. And I posted that picture on social media, like, hey, who's laughing now? I can still do my own hair because I've been doing it all along. And then I noticed something

And to your point and what you mentioned about your routine, I don't travel. I could never do what you did pre pandemic with. I don't have the executive functioning skills to be like constantly organizing trips and work trips with family stuff, kids and vacations. My executive functioning skills don't allow for that. My prefrontal cortex is not developed to promote that kind of life ever

I'm not interested in spending a lot of time drinking with people and I'm unapologetic about it. I don't even try and pretend, which maybe makes me old and the fuddy duddy, but it doesn't really feel like fun. So I think we've all changed, maybe for the better. I don't know. I hope more people join this thread because I literally think every person has some version of the story

So I love to hear that you're doing that. I hope that you're encouraging other people to do it. What's interesting to me is I don't think these conversations like the one we're having here happen enough between coworkers, between bosses and their direct reports. I believe, and I encourage people I coach to have these conversations. I think that what has happened as we have moved post pandemic right back to work, whatever that means to people
