What do you WANT to be REALLY good at?

And sometimes that's for creative people, sometimes it is for engineers, sometimes it's actually for managers in operations groups, in sales groups, et cetera, where you might want to go up one or two times or you say, here's the kind of career trajectory, if you will, that is available to me in my industry. But it isn't going to be just up, bigger titles, more responsibility, more people, et cetera

@ChristineGrimm this is #challenging . But it was a relief when I finally realized what i want to be really good at lies outside my work environment.

I no longer aspire to be in a particular position or earn a particular title or get that coveted promotion because my priorities have shifted. Not that I'm going to be any less faithful or committed to my work. As long as I work with a firm, I am going to be giving the best of my professional abilities to that company. But I realized what I want to be really good at is outside of the work environment

@geo_rhymes I love your #characterarc 💫 💥

It takes some effort to seek out mentorship or ways of learning. And actually, that's my question to you, right when you started shifting your attention to poetry, being an author and really using maybe parts of yourself that investment banking might not have been valued, right? When you decided to do that, how did you do that? Did you seek mentorship? Did you just do it on your own? Have you been looking for resources? Like, how did you dedicate yourself to this?

@marklesserart What will you gain from being curious? Can this ever be mastered?

But when I think about a concept like curiosity, like I said, there's a part of me that says, well, that's forever, right? Like you can just every day of your life go deeper and deeper and deeper and deeper. So maybe it's not a pool, maybe it's the ocean. But I would love to hear maybe a little bit more about how you build mastery of that. Is it a toolkit for being curious?

@ChristineGrimm - I think the answer to that was 50% chance and 50% conscious effort to seek out mentors and experts.

Mothers the best gift that a child could get worth much more than an affectionate pet she made the best food that you could be healthy she devoted her life that you could be wealthy and that was it. There was no looking back from then on but again, for the longest time I was under the impression that writing is a hobby. It's something you do in your free time, right?

So I want to experience that. I want to work for the love where it does not feel like a chore every day to get up. But something that I really want to become good at are what I call social skills, or rather social currency, I think is what I rather say. My adult son, he was born with this gift charisma, charm. But he really is able to connect with people. And where he has gone in life, I know is based on his social currency
