Have you ever taken a job and the real life experience is NOT what you expected?

I don't know that I've ever actually had an experience where I took a job. It's been a long time since I've actually taken a job because I've worked for myself for 27 years. I've definitely had client engagements that were not what I expected

@ChristineGrimm - I remember the time I fell for the promise of creative liberty. 😅

I realized later on, but as soon as I joined, I realized that I was sold a very wrong picture. They had definitive guidelines. They had a definitive structure in terms of how content was created, how it was approved, and how it went live. The liberty, if at all I had any, was maybe with the design where I was allowed a little bit of freedom to mess around with the titles and subtext, maybe

Hi. Christina. I can assure you that you are not the only one who has felt this way. I mean, obviously, I haven't had an actual job because it is quite illegal at my age. But from the numerous internship experiences, I can tell you things aren't always what they seem to be. When I got my first internship, I was really unsure of what I was supposed to do and what I was required to do. And they used this as their advantage

And I thought, because of how talented and how smart and what great skill set I've come into that that would override the idea that appearance really does dictate how people treat you outside of your home. So I was head of PR and influencer marketing for this cosmetics brand for about two and a half months. And I would like to describe it as the job from h***

Specifically, if it's a second interview or a third interview, you know, they're interested in you and making you an offer and you're interested in working there. You can push past the niceties and say, tell me about what you think are the things that aren't that great about this culture. Every culture and workplace has things that kind of live in the shadows and see if people will actually talk to you about them. They may not, but you asking is important, right?
