We seek therapy because we want some kind of assistance. We don't want to talk to a therapist. And then all of a sudden, we being they therapist, you know, we talking about other stuff. But I do enjoy therapy. I enjoy it, but I just feel like nobody's perfect. And so what if I had my plan? So what if I went through life making it this way?

And I really, I think it can benefit anybody because we all have stuff to process, and it's helpful to get to have somebody to talk to about it. But, yeah. Thank you so much for posting this and sharing

And so when he's recommended her and I was like, you know, I don't, I don't want to sit down with a Claire huxtable, right? If that makes any sense. Like, I don't, I don't need girlfriend talk. I don't need, I need the real. But when I met her, she's, uh, and we did telehealth

Hi, Keitha. Thanks for the invite and happy Tuesday morning to you. I actually have experienced this a little bit. I've only sought out a therapist within the past four or five years, I guess, and I'm in my late fifties. It seems kind of a. Kind of a long time to go without seeking out the help of a professionally trained therapist who can help you navigate, you know, life's struggles as they come at you

But I've done christian therapy and I had a male therapist then, you know, before I got divorced, long before. And when I was trying to work on it and I was going to therapy and he wouldn't go. And I've had the risk having women, but there are not that many male therapists out there. They're just not to get a male therapist is almost limb to none around these ways, you know, and it takes a special person to be a therapist as well

Hey, Keitha. I will say this. It is very hard to find a male therapist. And actually the male therapist, the male therapists that I've had over the years have all been white men. And so two of them are christian men, so that was a plus
Oh, my goodness. Keitha, I so can relate with you. A therapist's job is actually not to tell us what to do. And the reason I know this is because I'm hypnotherapist. It's to be able to guide you, to figure it out for yourself. And you're a very intelligent person, and you caught on to that pretty quick. Sounds like

Hey, you know, you say that about black men and therapists, and I'll say that my friend, he was supposed to go, he just going to therapy. I think that the fact that he didn't have a black male therapist was a lot of the things with him, too, because he was doing therapy. And then he decided he didn't think he needed it. He needed. But, you know, sometimes let me. They don't feel they need anything

So thanks again. And yes, everybody needs somebody, regardless of the situation. They need somebody to talk to that's not going to be there to place judgment, but be there to listen and to provide insight and to help them find their way

@chitchatwithkk

Being a hypnotherapist myself, talking to someone, you know, without them being hypnotized, talking to them, I found a lot of people, especially when they don't know me and it's a first session, that they're afraid that they're legitimately afraid. They're afraid I'm going to find out some deep, dark secret and they become defensive. And that's something that I've come to rationalize. It's not me they're angry with
