The NFL institutes a new fair catch rule.

Now let me just read you a little snippet from the NFL owners website or something. It's the wwnbcnetworkyork.com. That's where this is from. Players are now able to fair catch on kickoffs with the resulting possession beginning at the team's own 25 yard line, which is equivalent to a touchback. Like I said, that means even if a kicker boots the ball short of the end zone, the returner can signal for a fair catch and still get the benefit of a touchdown

When I was first listening to you here, I thought that this rule was already in place. And then when I looked it up, I realized that it's in place in college and not pro. And I I watch a lot more college than I do professional football. So that makes sense why I thought it was already in place. And I know they're doing it for player safety, but this pretty much is going down the path where I think kickoffs will become a thing of the past
