What was your Sex Education experience?
Hi swirl verse. I've got a question for you today and it's what was your sex education experience like in school? Because I think for a lot of people, it's a bit of a joke how inadequate sex education really is in schools. I know, especially here in the UK. We had Section 28, which was put in the Eighties so long, which stopped anyone legally teaching about gay sex in schools, which obviously restricted a huge part of sex education

Apart from maybe one of the class where we were showing an array of contraceptives and barrier protections, which was pretty extensive, actually, apart from that, nothing else. And I know this will be better than what some people had, but it was very minimal, very instructive, very heteronormative, nothing outside of the bounds of what was traditionally expected, probably 50 odd years ago. So yeah, it was pretty minimal

My mum had already told me about periods and stuff anyway, and I remember leaving the classroom thinking, Why have we just sat there and had to have a sexual health nurse show us how to stick something in our NICUs? It was pretty selfexplanatory. So my second experience was at secondary school, and I have two highlights on there. First of all, we did learn how to put condoms on, and I remember I was sat. This was a mixed class, so I was sat
