Holidays and What You Tell Yourself

article image placeholderUploaded by @BrandyJ43
I tell you this much, it wasn't a good thing either. It was pretty twisted and these mistletoes and these trees, the things that we think or we thought were what they were. Because trust me, we were big on Christmas. We were plushed out trees, music and everything. Yeah, it feels like a great time of the year. But what happens when you gain the knowledge, the information? Some stay within the ignorance and talk it away

You inspired me. Thank you so much. Brandy this post inspired me because everyone in their mama loves to criticize Christmas. Everyone in their mama. And it makes sense because Christmas is a time of celebration where you are getting gifts for people, and you are receiving gifts as well. And there's a lot of nostalgia built around it to where you feel it immensely when December 1 hits, even before that, every store you go to, that's all the decoration you're going to see. Right

What Are You Celebrating?

But the purpose is to bring awareness and then also to provoke thought and to make people dig deeper into do you know what you celebrate? Do you know what paganism or pagan is really what it is? Right? I think it goes further because I know Christian h*** no. I mean, no at all, whatsoever. But I was in the Christian church where they told a bunch of lies, so many. But my spiritual walk was deeper than that

But I would definitely recommend those books because we all understand that Christmas in this country is just a commercial money maker. And that's what it is, no matter how much they push it otherwise, that's just marketing. That's just clever marketing. And we all either have participated or still participate in it. I personally don't I don't celebrate any holidays. To be honest. I don't even celebrate my birthdays. I've only celebrated milestone birthdays

Thank you for sharing and yeah, totally agree. Definitely check those books out for me from a paganist point of view, like the information the actual paganist had provided and spoke out on Christmas and they're also discussing what it was, why they do it. They were saying, you guys are celebrating our pegonism holidays and they created a book about the mistletoe and all that stuff. And I was like gone. Interesting. Right?

It's what it took you back to, because not everybody had that. And you can still have that. Like me and my son. He understands it. I don't do. But we still have our own tradition of memories and just making our own memories and traditions. And maybe not be holidays, but beautiful days, blessing days, love days that have nothing to do with things that these holidays came tied with. What are we tying ourselves to? It's a great question

And like, do people, like, tell the truth to the kids but then black? But we're going to, you know, like the whole Simon clothing I busted that day and I was like, that is like some weird sit on the lap and why do we light our kids? We put that first lie in them. They did the whole psychology behind it, but then the whole question and no one could really give one that made sense because it doesn't make sense
