Is Roe v. Wade about race & class too?

article image placeholderIs This How Roe Ends? - The Daily
Those who cannot afford to do that will either have to find a way to get an abortion otherwise. And most likely what has been happening forever is that they will do it and it'll be more unsafe in States where they do not have access to abortion. And that is just the reality we have seen that documented through history. Getting rid of abortion rights and access to safe abortion does not stop abortion. It only stops safe abortions

This is going to directly affect Planned Parenthood, obviously, and different States allowing them to even exist. I'm just so worried about that, too. But thank you so much for encapsulating so perfectly. And my phone just rang, but I want you to button this up. So thank you. And I'll listen to the Daily when I get a chance. But thanks for reminding me. They're so good. I love that podcast. Okay, bye

And this just proves what you were saying about how Roe versus Wade not only affects women of color but also those who can't afford to travel outside of their state into a blue state to reach the health that they've need

But I also think it's a really powerful one of just how important this is and why it should matter to all of us, no matter what we necessarily think about abortion in particular. This goes well beyond just the issue of abortion. So thank you

It was settled case within the confines of places like the Southern Baptist Convention up until the early 70s, when the push to get Ronald Reagan into the office of President made abortion become a forefront issue. Since that time, obviously, it's become what it is today. So there are historical references as well. The important thing to remember, yes, I don't have a uterus, I get it. But I have been an activist on behalf of women, people of color
