Clearly so much interesting stuff to explore here with Alan D. Gaff taking us in our hand through this moment in history. A little more about Alan alan has received history degrees from many prestigious universities and is also a lifelong resident of Fort Wayne, Indiana, where he retired from the United States Postal Service in 2009 after nearly 30 years of service. Thank you, Alan. Since 1984, he has also been President of Historical Investigations, a research firm specializing in history, archaeology and environmental research

As I mentioned in the introduction, this latest book is about the greatest loss ever inflicted on the United States Army by Native Americans. How did you come to this particular moment in history and become so deeply interested that you wanted to write a whole book about it and why?

And if you could share a little bit with our listeners and also those who are aspiring historians. Or writers

And if you are not yet on to the next project, which would be understandable, considering this book only came out just a few months ago, we would love to hear anything else that currently has you intellectually occupied and may influence what work we can look forward to from you next. Thank you so much, Alan. Really looking forward to this conversation
