#MovieReview | The Woman King starring Viola Davis

article image placeholderTHE WOMAN KING – Official Trailer (HD)
There was something that felt very classic about this story to me that I also found really appealing. I will most likely eventually rewatch it and I'm curious if this is a film that you would rewatch if you've seen it or if you haven't. If there's a reason why you have not, put this on your must watch list as soon as possible

It was just a beautiful movies. TV had such heartfelt moments where Viola and then coming back into full circle with her daughter, Viola's partner, who was just so loyal to her, but yet also a true friend, right? A true friend who said, I am not your servant. But what a true friend does is call you out on your s*** and still loves you and supports you and protects you and guides you

And we were talking about how much we loved it. And she mentioned just how incredible it felt and in some way healing for there to see a film on the big screen in the theater where black women's rage and pain and love and joy were all so on display and upfront. And that was something that I noticed too, in relation to your question. I really wanted to see this film because just Viola Davis, I truly will watch her in anything that she is in, ever

I have not watched the movie, but I'm going to check it out. I didn't even know that this movie is out. That's largely my fault. I'm mostly tuned out of these things because, you know, to save time, I unsubscribed from a very single streaming service. And, yeah, I think I'm going to check this one out. Thank you
