Hi, friends. You may have seen that Germany and France are shutting down, going into another lockdown. In some ways, this is great news because they're just doing everything they can to try to help the hospital workers, not be overwhelmed and to take care of people as best as possible. But obviously it's also really sad as we're seeing another rise in cases of covet across Europe and also in many parts here in the US

I miss going on dates with the new people and not having to worry about if they are safe or not in one more way than I normally would have to. I miss holding hands. I miss going to readings and hearing the work of people I don't know in person and then getting to know them. I miss not worrying about if the people I love will leave home healthy and come home and be sick without knowing. But mostly I just miss the tension togetherness

I miss open. Mike. I still can go to some, but the vibe is obviously very different. Masks are required, and the crowd is smaller. The bar opens earlier, closes earlier. Everybody's more tense, more paranoid. I miss hugs from my friends. I'm an introvert, and at first I really didn't think COVID was affecting me. I was like, okay, so I can't go out. That's cool. I only do that once a week anyway

Well around here right now. Things are relatively normal. And what I mean is you can dine in at restaurants. You can sit at a bar, but it's two seats and then 6ft feet and two seats and 6ft and so on. So limited capacity is what it is. But you can still go out and do the things you used to do. But the things I miss the movies. I used to go to the movies all the time

I got to go to a private screening for my niece's birthday, and it was like one of the best moments of the pandemic for me so far. It just reminded me so much of the magic of that shared experience. And even though it wasn't quite the same as seeing a Bowie with strangers, it was still really fun. Sorry about Woodstock. You really painted a picture there, though, and now I'm adding that to my list of places to see
