My Critical Error!

Well, the reason we ask her to call after propping the tooth is because if they left some decay behind, things like that, you're like, Well, prep it some more. Whatever. Well, I go in and let's just say my first question to her when I looked at it is what tooth were you supposed to be working on? And so the story goes, it was rough today

When you make a big mistake!

That's part of being a good leader is you have the humility and respect for yourself to take responsibility, even when something goes wrong, or even when someone who you are managing or you are superior to in whatever way are more knowledgeable in some way messes up. You also have to take responsibility. And I heard you do that here. And I just thought that makes Shannon a good leader, and because we can't totally avoid mistakes that happen even when we do our very best, they still happen

Thank you @bowie

There were all these boxes, and I forgot to call on her. Well, after book club, I'm doing the edit and all that. I'm going, oh, my God. I would never come to this book club again. Who the h*** does she think she is? So anyway, I felt horrible, so I'm emailing her and I apologized and all of that, and she was like, no, it's fine. I was having a good time

Hey, Shahnaz, I'm so sorry to hear about your day. I do hope you feel better now having heard you out. I think you did a wonderful job of correcting the student by letting her down quite gently without publicly knocking her down or making her feel more wretched than she already was. It's really nice of you to even consider sharing the accountability with her for whatever happened there. And I agree with what Bobby said. It's a skill that true leadership demands
