Should Churches Pay Taxes?

article image placeholderUploaded by @Bolanile
And basically profiting off of the organization. So is this organization or religious body? Whether it's a Church, whether it's a mosque, whether it's a temple, any religion really? Should they be taxed? I want to get everyone's take on this. So I'll be inviting others in the wider community to contribute, but would love to hear what your thoughts are on this topic

So I myself as a Catholic feel like churches should be taxed and they should be audited. So I just looked this up after hearing your swell and guess churches aren't audited unless like a high level treasury official has a reasonable belief like based on facts and et cetera to actually audit like a religious institution. I just feel like having an infrastructure to like tax and audit churches is important because I feel like it's important for everyone to know where the money is going and how it's being spent

Render Unto Cesar

Under the Fairness Act and the Constitution, if you tax the larger ones, you also have to tax the smaller ones, like the ones that I'm a pastor of, my Church on a good Sunday has eight people. Yes, I said eight. And if you were to tax us based on the land that we sit on and what we take in, we would not be able to keep our doors open. And that is one of the many reasons why a lot of churches are exempted
