Be skeptical of anyone who tells you they have a universal key to success.

Be skeptical of anyone who tells you that they have the universal key to success for any situation, especially life situations, business, marketing because things change, things are disrupted. There's a principle in psychology called the wishful seeing bias. And you may have experienced this. You're walking down the street, you're going to go into your favorite store, but about 10ft in front on the sidewalk, you see something that looks like a $20 bill and you race quickly to pick it up before anyone

Things change, grow and evolve over time. #change #growth #bias

And when you don't properly prepare yourself for that inevitable thing that can disrupt everything that you thought was right, that you thought was guaranteed, that you thought was going to be the solution, something else gets introduced into that and then here goes the onset of disappointment. So I do believe what you're saying. We see what we want to see. We believe the things that we want to believe. And when those things don't apply, now we're disappointed

@BobHutchins Useful advice vs winning lottery ticket numbers

And it was great that it worked for them, but that may not apply to you or anybody else, right? So a lot of people give advice based on what they accomplished and got successful doing, but that does not necessarily translate into good advice

But as we're learning, just because something has worked and does appear to be a truth that has stood the test of time for maybe ten years, 20 years, maybe hundreds of years, there will come a time where it will have to shift and evolve and grow. And are we ready and willing to grow and change with it, whatever that time frame may be?

Are they wiser? Do they know more things? What are their priorities? And they would all say, without a doubt, that life has taught them that, as you said, that more things change. That is the constant in all of it. Again, thank you for your words of encouragement. And hopefully we will learn and grow and evolve and be better people, as we are kind and loving and helpful to others

And then I come across your swell and I'm thinking to myself, see, this is exactly what I was talking about. That in terms of higher level processing and thinking that people should think about that or process it before saying oh yes, that is true. That person has the ultimate answer and is ultimately the resource, the only resource because it to me just makes the statement automatically not true. Because there are so many the other different experiences that have also led to success that we should consider

Wilson, a famous biologist, that said the problem with humanity is that we have paleolithic brains or emotions, medieval institutions and godlike technology. And so our brains are emotions. Our physiology hasn't changed a lot, nor will it change a ton in the last several thousand years. But our technology changes daily. And the challenge is always is how do we keep up? How do we put it in the correct framework and how do we maintain our humanity in the midst of it?

And if someone doesn't have doubts, if someone doesn't question their ability and gives you a guarantee no matter what, no matter what, I'll solve it for you 100%. There you go. Here's the solution. Neatly packaged at XYZ subscription rates or at a one time lifetime deal. Cost I know at some point, no matter how good the intentions are, things are going to go over because these kind of things are difficult to sustain
