What profession is romantised - Writing 😛

article image placeholderUploaded by @Binati_Sheth
So I think, yes, one of the most hyped, up and romanticized professions in the world is that of a writer. And I wish people would look beyond that. People would realize that one thing that writers do is they exaggerate for effect. And that thing mostly also applies to their real life. Right. Because largely speaking, most people live normal lives every day

Writers, in fact, do see writing for what it really is and do it despite all of that because it is worth the effort, because they realize that creating is just a small part of it. The rest of it is editing, typing, communicating, networking, doing research. There's so much that goes into it which only the writer is aware of and not the people around them. I mean, to others, it is more like some sort of overrode hobby. Oh, what fun

Totally love your response and totally jealous of how you frame that because I think you defined it much better than I did. The romanticization is happening from people around them, the writers, not the writers per se, because writers are mostly when they are talking amongst each other and when they are surrounded by their peers and people they trust. Most of the time our conversations are like eyes in the GI, right? My life is ruined. What choice have I made? Why did I do this to myself?

The creativity is what I think connects the dots that brings all this intelligence, brilliance and perception and understanding of people situations, et cetera, into place. Right. So that people who read your work are immediately able to connect, able to appreciate your perspective. So romanticizing. Yes, I think maybe to a small degree you could call that. But for me, it has been I know how difficult the craft is, so I wouldn't say it comes easy

Like listening to your post and swell rather and that's pretty good know with me writing a lot of people come to me ask me to write different things and there's this one thing that I was told there's one thing that a pizza delivery guy can do better than an offer and that is feed a family of four all he has to do or she has to do is bring the pizza home and feed the whole family but I just want to give you some I just love how you put everything together about a carpenter and a writer and it's creativity and everyone that's so true

And I love that there's some really wise people here on Swell that I listen to and I'm just blown away and I would think. Oh. Wow. I'd love to read what they have to say. I'd love to see how they paint and see how they work. But the true gift is just the simple voice tells everything and other mediums might express it differently. But to your point. It is such an old and tried and true method of sharing. Showing your soul

Good morning. How you doing? Love your reply. I love listening to you. I take care of the conversation on Swell is real. Excuse the pun, but I really enjoy listening to you continue to reply to everything that I do, others do, because I'm eventually going to listen to you and I really enjoyed it. Good conversation, electronic conversation. I appreciate you and please invite me to any of the conversations that you're involved in and have a great day. Take care

That's it. So thank you so much for that pizza delivery metaphor. It is just so brilliant, as Deborah pointed out. It's just so jarring and it's so true onto Deborah now. Thank you so much for chiming in. The thing you pointed out is, I think, the number one problem with academia. If you look at academic writing, it is so insightful, it is so good in terms of knowledge, but it is so boring and it is so high brow
