We delve into the biggest issues in South Asia regarding politics, economics, history, culture, and what we do is we bring on guests who are the best people to talk to about that issue and we really go into the entire background, the evolution, and give you a clear understanding of what's going on. So, a couple of weeks ago, we did a podcast on Khalistan and we spoke to Tavlin Singh, who basically sat next to Bindran Valley and was covering the entire unrest on the ground

Wow, this is going to be incredible. Welcome to swell. I'm very excited to follow this Swell cast. And it's a great offering because we get locked into our small lives and sometimes we get pulled out with great storytelling and great guests and great conversation. And I'm speaking to you from Los Angeles. And I do have a question about the India Ukraine connection, just in terms of refugee status. I know we are having politics here that are pretty opened up

And I do know that Ukraine looks to India for medical supplies and so on, but I have my doubts as to whether India will be willing to go against the wishes of Russia to help Ukraine out, even in the form of medical supplies and so on. So I guess my fundamental question is, what's in it for Ukraine? Fast

I know a lot of Berliners who actually took in Ukrainian families or donated to charities. And my flatmate, who's Russian actually drove from Berlin to the Polish Ukrainian border and he brought back a few Ukrainian families to Berlin. So with that kind of support and response in Western Europe, a lot of Ukrainians are very understandably choosing to go there. Ask for your second question. Question. Yeah, we delve into why India has this position with respect to Russia

In fact, the Deputy Foreign Minister, Amina Jarapova, even visited India, as you might know, to push forward this relationship. But overall, it's been quite dismal and I think Ukraine still wants to take it back to pre war levels where we did have a considerable amount of medicine and defense trade, but I'm not sure what that's going to look like. But, yeah, we asked her your question directly
