Pigeons - a poem about big cities

article image placeholderUploaded by @BeaumouManatee
Or if their reasons for moving from wherever they were previously were purely mercenary, knowing they could live fatter, more contented, less preyed upon lives among the concrete walls and spillage of human wealth. Or maybe they materialized spontaneously between the feet of pedestrians to serve as a symbol of sorts, a speckled and bastardized dove of peace. Their dappled plumage and gentle coups are the softest things I see and hear in these unforgiving streets

Hey, thank you for sharing this little piece of poetry. Very beautiful in a unique way. You know, cities are not necessarily my favorite thing or place to be. I much prefer wide open spaces and nature in the country. But nonetheless, you kind of created this a beautiful charm and taste my mouth around city. It's just being able to remember all the things of a city. It's really been a while since I've been in the city

And as a kid who was also big into Harry Potter, it gave me the mistaken impression that you could go up to any pigeon and give it a letter and say, go to my friend Fred's house, and the pigeon would know what to do. So as a kid, I sort of thought of them as, like, magical Harry Potter owls, which added to their charm for me. But anyway, thank you again for listening, and I hope you have a great day
