In 194, after voluntarily ceding the island kingdom of hawai'i to Great Britain, kamehameha and his chiefs considered themselves British subjects and recognized king George III the third as emperor. The session to Great Britain did not radically change traditional governance, but principles of English governance and titles were instituted

But you do a really good job of captivating me and bringing me in, as well as other listeners, I would imagine. And what I'm getting to is the fact that I have studied many histories of various indigenous cultures and various eras and various empires and so on and so forth, but I have not heard very much at all on the history of the Hawaiian culture
