Morning Coffee - Virtually Cultists

We could never know who really did it. As I read this, and I watched this, and I thought about all of the people that I know that believe these same things because of this man, this man who we've caught on audio, admitting he knows that this virus is worse, admitting that it's easily transmissible and incredibly deadly. I couldn't help but think of other leader, another one who swore that everything was fine. This is no big deal

Trump, Jim Jones, Tony Tenpenny, Virtually Nobody

Deep breaths 😷

And I'm just so amazed that so much as normalized, like you said, it's unfathomable. And I think part of our deep work as human beings because life is a gift and we don't live here very long is how can we balance this dystopian reality with a daily grind of living? And sometimes it's as easy as popping on swell and hearing the buoyancy of your voice

And when I was watching the news on and off while working today, you know, that we've reached other over 200,000 deaths and that they were coming out and showing the people's faces and the names and that's been going on, I guess, since yesterday and how people just still don't believe it's true or deny other virus or the tapes with Bob Woodward, I was trying to think of another example of why you wouldn't just believe something that was put in front of your face

I think it's something like that. I think these people that fell in love with them are people that are just like him. I know not everyone that likes Trump is a racist, but most of them are. Most of them are racist. Some of them are good people, but most of them are racist. They're bigots. They're nasty people. I think what happened is before Trump got elected. I knew there was racism in the world, but I thought we was coming around

Poker man. First of all, I need some of that espresso coffee as well. I'm absolutely exhausted. So that's a shame it didn't work. We'll have to find something else. But I think you have a really good point there, especially combining the two that they're actually in love with him and also the fact that he embraces racism, and therefore they feel it's okay as well. And I agree with you

I too, am a big fan of the avalanche comment, especially because I'm a metal AF bro. You know, you gotta want to be called a Snowflake, you know. Secondly, Missy, yes, there is a principle in business and in relationships, and I think it also applies here. It's called the sunk cost fallacy where you've invested so much time or you've invested your credibility, your dignity, your personal reputation. Put it all on the line, and it failed

Yeah, let's do it. Sure. Let's do it. It's crazy, but, yeah, other good thing about Trump is that it brought out the reality of people. Yeah, that is very, very, very true. After Trump, you could see where people stood, what people's intentions were, what they believed in. And it was very blatant. And it came out to the light
