Nobody Would Take Trump Home For Thanksgiving.

article image placeholderImgur
Anyway, enough of this Orange bloated GibranI. It's Friday. It's time for Ain't Hollywood swell. Paramount Pictures has greenlit a remake of 1987 classic John Hughes film planes, trains and Automobiles, starring Will Smith and Kevin Hart. I don't know how I feel about this because Del Griffith, the character of Del Griffith, played by the legendary John Candy. I feel like it needs to be a very sympathetic character. And you look at Will Smith. He's Jacked, right?

Music. This is why I say that Donald Trump is by far the most entertaining President we have ever had. Nobody else even comes close. He didn't disappoint last night. He spouted his usual dumb s*** about black people and socialism. And I'm just curious, how many of you out there have ever read Carl Marx and Fred Engles? How many of you actually even know who they are? Because one of the words we keep hearing now is socialism, socialism

No, none of them even have the slightest clue of what it really is. It's just been used as a trigger word this morning. I actually didn't even watch any clips, but one of the headlines I saw was that apparently even Fox News called it boring. So I have no commentary personally on what actually happened because I didn't even see a single clip

Will Kevin Bacon at least make a cameo?

I mean, it rings true on so many levels, and it was just a fantastic movie. I assume that Will Smith will play The Straight Man, and Kevin Hart would be the antagonist. I don't know that. I'm really trying to figure out how they're going to pull this off. I can't imagine it. It has to be a completely different storyline

I just tried to give it a look. I won't have the time. It's an hour and ten minutes long, but I did do about ten minutes as I was waiting in Starbucks for my cold brew, pumped and fun foam. It's not a latte, I guess it's just a coffee. This thing's pretty delicious. I got to admit, not the pumpkin spice latte, that's garbage, but the cold brew pumpkin foam. I think they got a hit on their hands

@Phil

Yeah, Phil, you know, that's exactly my thoughts. Whenever I hear about a remake, my first thoughts go to. Well, what could be improved upon? Is there a way to improve upon what was done before, or is there a way to make it feel more authentic, to make it feel better? And this is a film that I just failed to see. What you could improve upon. The comedy was great

It was better. Let's keep it real. Okay, so let's give it a chance. Kevin Hart and Will Smith are at least as talented as John Kent in the original cast. They're at least as talented. So let's see what kind of give them a chance is to see what perspective they come with it. You know, it's going to be funny

I never thought he was funny. People would always say to me, oh, man, you got a seat of Kevin Hart, and I'd watch it, and it just didn't work for me. But his films, I enjoy them. So we'll see. I still reserve judgment until I see this. But you're coming at my s*** now. You know what I mean? Anytime somebody comes after things I hold dear, you better do a good job

I'm going to say that if they do remake it with Will Smith and Kevin Hart, I'm just going to go out and limit and say that s*** is going to be an instant classic. And I predict that just like The Nutty Professor, it will take the place of the original in some people's minds, not everybody, because the first Nutty Professor was a classic, too, even though Eddie Murphy was like you said, a million times better

That's a white character or whatever. I don't care about stuff like that. If you write a good story and you put that good story to film in a great way, I'm good. You know what I mean? That's all I care about. And that Ghostbusters film just felt lazy. Like it felt real lazy. And to be fair, now, I'm not the huge fan of the original that a lot of people are. I like it

Yeah, my oldest nephew had one at the time because he was young enough at that time to want one. But me, myself, I wasn't really into Ghostbusters like that. It was just one of those nice 80s movies. I mean, it was a h*** of a 80s movie. To be honest, I had Ray Goodman singing the Ghostbusters soundtrack and it was classic movie. Classic movie. I hope they redo it again and go in a different direction this time

Oh, yeah. Robin, I got what you were saying. I mean, I know you were just kind of addressing what he did and how he did it. I was just more or less stating that why, for me, personally, all of that falls flat. I'm I know that it doesn't for a large number of other people, and probably on a more microcosmic level
