Old paths and new spiritual adventures

But like this figure in the eight of clubs, I'm still trying to find my path as to what it means to be a spiritual person without religion. So if any of you have ever been on a similar path or have insights or an instinctual response to this post, I would appreciate it what your spirituality looks like without organized religion, if that's possible. Thank you

thank you 🙏

I guess more agnostic if I had to put a label on it. But I guess I have my own understanding of a larger being that I don't even really feel comfortable calling God maybe like source or something like that. But even some of that language I feel like can get utilized and used for capitalistic means. So clearly I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about the language around all of this stuff we're talking about

Wow. Over 300 days sober. Congratulations. That is so tremendous and well deserved. What a commitment to yourself. I'm very proud of you. And I can't wait to see what we do to celebrate a year. I'm looking forward to that a lot. And to answer your question, f***, yes. You can have spirituality without religion

Oh, I forgot to say, I also think that a spiritual atheist would be a really badass handle if you wanted to go by that

Thank you very much. I really appreciate that. I like that you labeled the fact that yes. I know the answer is yes, but looking for a way to define my yes us is such an interesting way to put it. And I think that's exactly right. I know the answer. But what does it look like? And what could it be? I definitely don't want to put myself in another box, so I really appreciate that. Thank you

There were so many things that you could do outwardly to say, okay, I'm practicing my religion, and I think those things can be comforting in a way. So I really appreciate Tarot as a source of comfort, for sure. And I think that connects to what you said about feeling held by something actually really resonates. When I was doing that overnight shift around 03:00 a.m.

And I think it genuinely is partially because of the negative experiences I had within the Church, and my experience of organized religion was very shaming. And I think especially as a queer person and being a queer kid before you have the language to further understand yourself and how you fit in the world. I found it particularly isolating and just did not resonate with me at all. And so I think for a while I just felt very disconnected from spirituality because I misunderstood it and conflated it with religion
