Alter Thought: "A Social Shaman"

article image placeholderUploaded by @The3rdOWL
And so when we're on social media, interesting enough, we're not just there to post things and have people like our stuff and share our stuff, but we also engage with other people and like their things and watch their things. And if there's a questionnaire, answer it. So to engage with the technology, not just use it for your gains. That's where we can start to imagine this next level of emotional intelligence that expresses a higher thinking of love in a very public way

How a Shaman uses social media to strengthen & understand Self. How can you send "digital Love?"

@aShamaninJourny

A deeper reflection on "liking" someones "post." Does it mean something deeper: spiritual? 👍❤️💭🤔

And you see them doing silly things like riding bikes into trees or kissing their children or a baby laughing, or a young lady taking a selfie, or a young man taking a selfie in a public bathroom. Because maybe they're about to go for a job interview. We never think about the context in which people post things. We just see things and just say, do I like it? No, like the social media algorithm has programmed us in such a way to even think like that

Like, I'd rather have five comments over 50 likes. But yeah, that's just me and I appreciate the system. I like that it gives people an opportunity to engage even if they don't really want to, like fully. But yeah, I think it's just like a false sense of connection. But that's just me. Again, thanks for the post, Aaron

@Dee94 "Thank you" 🙏🏽❤️💭🤓💯

Hey, D, thank you so much for joining this dialogue space and contributing your very valid point in perspective. Yeah. I mean, you're right. If we agree with you, we hope that no one thinks that we were trying to be so absolutely. But we were just giving our perspective. So we're so happy to hear others perspective like yours. It really gives us a multi dimensional dialogue. So thank you so much. Spot on. We really feel you

Yes, by all means. I appreciate our conversations. It helps me elevate my thought process and how I think about things. That was just my initial, I guess, my consistency, belief in these likes and whatever. The things, maybe, I don't know. I think that it definitely helps to converse and share different perspectives. Effective. Because then it's like you're not closed minded and that's all I strive for is to be open minded and accept other thought processes

Soulful swellin @The3rdOWL

I feel like I've totally gotten off what you're talking about but I think this is a beautiful swell and I like hearing you think through it and yes, the original idea about the assumptions people have about what a shaman is or what a Christian is, what a spiritual person is, what a Reiki person is. Spirituality doesn't mean ignorance to technology. I think people who are spiritual whatever that I put quotes because that means a lot of different things

Let's build those places and let's make them more equine than they are here in in this world. Did I pronounce that right? Probably not. Anyway, I so appreciate this conversation, and I think we're lucky that you've chosen to be here in this particular space

@Dee94

I'm going to like through appreciation and it could mean a couple of things but I definitely feel like Liking represents that there was attention paid to it and I think that's huge. But to your point about knee jerk kind of like like it's hard to do it here so I kind of did slow for that reason. But thanks for your thought. It was really resonates with me

I would never know their lives unless I have this incredible tool of seeing pictures and talking with them. It's just so powerful. So every day I'm grateful because I know that for years, for 20 years, they moved in the late 80s through the 90s, nothing. It was really hard. And now we're all connected again. So it's wonderful. Let's all stay connected. Yay, great conversation
@aShamaninJourny

Thank you 🙏🏽 @DBPardes @PKBriggs @Dee94

Thank you for bringing up those important topics, especially as they relate to the grand topic of the dialogue, like swell being the platform of technology and integrating options of replies through emojis of some sort, symbols or something Besides just a hard symbol. That's a good point. And thank you so much, Deborah, for bringing up that really important notion about community. It must be the universe really does, because right now we're working on developing a new online community for our dissertation project
